Nexera Encourages Budding Lighting Pros
Imagine it's your first lighting project for your high school production, and at the last minute, the director decides that the shade of blue you picked for that scene in Act I isn't going to work.
This might be a problem in a regular high school, but not for students at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, S.C.
The Richland District Two Auditorium, which sits on the campus of Richland Northeast High School, recently installed 15 Nexera wash luminaires to highlight its productions. The Nexera lets designers and techs change colors quickly with no worries.
"Since most of our shows are back-to-back and have little or no setup time, the Nexeras have given us more creative freedom than before, " said Theatre Technician Tony Fling.
"The Nexera colors are also more vibrant than that of standard gel and have brought new life to a lot of shows done at the district auditorium," he said. "Since most of our shows happen with no rehearsals, and the stage manager or director is deciding the look for a scene literally seconds before it starts, we can now make any color they want happen in a moment's notice. "
"Wybron has given us the ability to better serve our clients and has saved us time and money, " Fling continued. "With no need to replace gels and no need for hanging multiple washes per show, we have more time to make our numerous shows better for the performers and the audience that is watching. "
With its precise dichroic color mixing and easy operation, the Nexera is a favorite among lighting designers and technical crews. It's bright, efficient, and offers an endless array of colors.
Combining Wybron's legendary reliability with low cost, Nexeras are fast becoming a favorite in small theatres and churches as well as pro stages worldwide.
