Wybron Works a Little Magic on Broadway

Wicked Logo

Wicked-the Musical is the latest craze on Broadway. Based on Winnie Holzman's book, Wicked, this comical look at the Witches of Oz is suitable for ages 6 to 96. Musician and composer Stephen Swartz, takes audiences on a magical musical journey into the college years of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. Yes, there was life before Dorothy and Toto!

The production hit Broadway in 2003 and was an instant success with the Wall Street Journal claiming, "Hooray! Broadway's got a big new musical...it's more than good enough to run for a decade or two! Go!" This exciting new musical is casting its spell at the Gershwin Theatre with superb acting, inviting set design, and magical stage lighting.

Divine Color for a Wicked Performance

Wicked Witches

LD Ken Posner uses intense color and creative lighting control to transform the stage with his usual Broadway flair. Well-known for their reliability, Posner chose over 200 Coloram IIs to take a prominent position in the rig for Wicked. Provided by Fourth Phase NJ, the Coloram IIs offer a creative solution to stirring up a little lighting magic. The vibrant colors produced by the Coloram IIs are perfect for putting an angelic glow on Glinda the Good Witch or enhancing the evil green hue of the Wicked Witch of the West.

How are they holding up? Wybron's performance has been far from "wicked"! Vari-Lite Head Electrician, Brenden Quigley, wrote, "As the tech for the gear, I'd give you an emphatic yes! The equipment has worked almost flawlessly..." Wybron's time-tested color changers have once again proven to be durable and reliable.

When the show must go on...Wybron must be on the show.
